Sports Mole's countdown of the 25 greatest Arsenal players in the Premier League continues with number seven - David Seaman.

David Seaman

A member of the vaunted Arsenal rearguard throughout the 1990s and beyond, David Seaman was as much a part of the team's defensive solidity as Tony Adams, Martin Keown, Steve Bould, Lee Dixon or Nigel Winterburn.

The England goalkeeper joined Arsenal in 1990 and helped the club to the First Division title in his debut season, but his best times came in the Premier League when he added two more top-flight crowns to his collection - in 1998 and 2002.

Both of those titles were part of a league and FA Cup double - two of four FA Cup winners' medals Seaman won during his time at Highbury, having also helped the club to glory in 1993 and 2003.

Seaman's contribution in the latter success was particularly notable as he pulled off one of the greatest saves of all time to deny Sheffield United's Paul Peschisolido in the semi-finals of the competition.

That proved to be Seaman's final year at the club before seeing his career out at Manchester City, having made 325 Premier League appearances for the Gunners - second only to Ray Parlour in the club's history.

In all competitions the shot-stopper made 564 appearances for Arsenal, picking up 12 trophies in that time, including the 1993 League Cup and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup one year later.
