Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has claimed that Hector Bellerin does not face a long spell on the sidelines through injury.
Earlier on Wednesday, reports emerged that Bellerin would be absent from the squad to face AC Milan in Thursday's Europa League tie at San Siro, and Wenger has confirmed that the right-back has sustained a knee problem.
However, the Frenchman has suggested that the Spaniard has been left out of the squad as a precautionary measure after failing to complete a training session.
At a press conference, Wenger told reporters: "He's injured. He has an inflammation of his left knee. He had a scan yesterday which showed inflammation.
"He tried but couldn't absorb the training session so we left him at home. It doesn't look a long-term problem."
Bellerin - who has been linked with a summer move away from the Emirates Stadium - has made 35 appearances for Arsenal during the current campaign.
