Danny Welbeck has said that he will use the disappointment of losing an FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United as motivation when Arsenal take on Reading at Wembley this evening.
The striker was part of the United side that lost on penalties to Everton in 2009, and the England international told former Gunners defender Martin Keown for the Daily Mail how much the defeat hurt.
Welbeck said: "It would mean a lot to get to the final. I've been in this position before with United, we lost on penalties, and I remember how [low] I felt that day.
"That's something I do not want to feel again and I just want to get to the next stage. This is a very important game [against Reading] but we have to approach it like any other."
Welbeck moved to Arsenal from United on transfer deadline day last summer for around £16m.
