Arsenal have held Wolfsburg to a goalless half-time draw in their Emirates Cup encounter in North London this afternoon.
The Bundesliga side have threatened to spoil the party for much of the opening half as the Gunners found themselves second best for large spells.
It was a familiar face in Nicklas Bendtner that almost saw the Germans move ahead, but the Dane - who spent nine years with Arsenal - miscued his volley on 15 minutes.
Preferred to Olivier Giroud up front, Theo Walcott spurned a couple of good opportunities midway through the half as Wolfsburg survived.
On 33 minutes, Walcott saw his goal correctly ruled out for offside, while at the other end Bendtner's curling effort forced Petr Cech into a smart save.
The visitors finished the half on top as defender Timm Klose sliced his shot wide from a good position to ensure both sides went in level at the break.
