Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Bournemouth

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Mikel Arteta's first game in charge - a Boxing Day trip to Bournemouth.

Mikel Arteta takes charge of his first match as Arsenal manager when his new side visit Bournemouth at Dean Court on Boxing Day.

The Spaniard watched on from the stands as the Gunners played out a dire goalless draw with Everton on Saturday, leaving them with only one win from their last 13 games across all competitions.

Arsenal will therefore spend Christmas in the bottom half of the table, but much has been made of Arteta's appointment following the success he enjoyed working with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Sead Kolasinac

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Sead Kolasinac suffered ankle ligament damage against Manchester City earlier this month and will not be back in full training until January.

Dani Ceballos

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Bournemouth)

Saturday's match came too soon for Dani Ceballos, but the Spaniard is now back in training and could play some part for the trip to Bournemouth.

Rob Holding

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Bournemouth)

Rob Holding has been sidelined since earlier this month after suffering a bruised knee, but he will be handed a late fitness test ahead of this match.

Mesut Ozil

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Bournemouth)

Mesut Ozil picked up a foot injury against Man City and subsequently missed the Everton game, although Freddie Ljungberg admitted that he would not have been involved anyway due to his reaction to being taken off in the City defeat. The German playmaker will be available for Arteta's first match, though.

Hector Bellerin

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Bournemouth)

Hector Bellerin fell just short of returning against Everton as he continues to battle a tight hamstring, but he is one of a number of players who will be assessed ahead of the Boxing Day clash.

Kieran Tierney

Status: Out
Type of injury: Shoulder
Possible return date: Unknown

Kieran Tierney added to Arsenal's injury woes when he suffered a dislocated shoulder which will keep him sidelined for up to three months.

Gabriel Martinelli

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Bournemouth)

Gabriel Martinelli played the full 90 minutes against Everton, but it has since been confirmed that he is suffering from a tight left hamstring ahead of this match and he will undergo a late fitness test on the problem.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Calum Chambers

Return date: December 29 (vs. Chelsea)

Calum Chambers picked up his fifth yellow card of the season at Everton, narrowly missing the cut-off point and earning himself a one-game ban. Matteo Guendouzi and Granit Xhaka are also one booking away from bans, but Sokratis Papastathopoulos is available again after serving a suspension of his own last time out.
