Chuba Akpom has claimed that he is using his loan spell at Hull City as a springboard to the Arsenal first team.
The 20-year-old joined the Championship side on loan from the Gunners in August to get more minutes under his belt.
Akpom made his senior debut for Arsenal at the age of 17, 10 years after joining the club's academy, but he is yet to cement a place in the first-team squad.
"I think the loan system is there to build you up as a player," Akpom told Sky Sports News. "Harry Kane will probably tell you that most of his loans made him into the player he is now. I'm hoping that can be the case for me.
"On each loan I've learned something, so hopefully next season, or in the next few seasons, I can just be as good as I can be. My goal is to break into the Arsenal team and just progress from there."
The striker has also had loan spells at Brentford, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest.
