Arsenal have confirmed that they are to appeal against the red card awarded to defender Gabriel Paulista in the defeat to Chelsea.
The centre-back was sent off by referee Mike Dean after striking out at Diego Costa at the end of the first half.
Paulista has since been hit with an improper conduct charge by the Football Association for the way that he reacted to being shown his marching orders in the 2-0 loss at Stamford Bridge.
A short statement on Arsenal's official website read: "The club can confirm that it is appealing wrongful dismissal and the three-match ban given to Gabriel".
The FA have also charged Costa with violent conduct, while Santi Cazorla - himself shown red late on - has been warned about his future behaviour.
