Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure after suffering severe concussion following a blow to the jaw in the 2-1 win over Liverpool.
The 29-year-old was injured in a seemingly innocuous clash with Liverpool's Jordan Henderson during the match at Anfield and was stretchered off shortly after the half-time whistle.
Replays of the incident have suggested that it was a purely accidental collision, with the Spaniard blindly turning into the Reds' midfielder. Sky Sports News reported that Arteta was "not 100%" in the dressing room.
Arteta was taken off the field out cold, however, reports later suggested he was "feeling fine" in hospital.
Arteta joined Arsenal from Everton last summer.
