Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has aimed a subtle dig at fellow Premier League club Arsenal following their pre-season clash at Beijing's Bird's Nest Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory over the Gunners, with Willian opening the scoring in the 40th minute, before Michy Batshuayi grabbed a brace either side of the interval.
The match was just Chelsea's second pre-season fixture, but it was Arsenal's fourth, and Courtois has paid tribute to his teammates for putting on a strong display against a potential title rival next season.
"For us it was just our second game and our first was against Fulham, which was more of a training game than a proper friendly. But it was Arsenal's fourth. It was a good way to start, we scored three goals, kept a clean sheet. We did defended well," Courtois told reporters.
Next up for Premier League champions Chelsea is a clash with Bayern Munich in Singapore on Tuesday afternoon.
