Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Lukasz Fabianski has suffered a new injury problem which requires specialist treatment.
Fabianski has yet to play this season after suffering a shoulder injury during pre-season.
The Polish goalkeeper was close to making a return to full training but has ruptured ankle ligaments, ruling him out for the rest of 2012.
Wenger told the club's official website: "Fabianski sees a specialist today (Thursday).
"I don't know what will come out of that. It's an ankle ligament problem, a new problem. He was back in training before that."
Wenger also revealed that first-choice keeper Wojciech Szczesny is still two weeks away from making his return, meaning Italian understudy Vito Mannone will continue to deputise for the Gunners.
