Former Leicester City striker Gary Lineker has urged Jamie Vardy to stay at the club amid reported interest from Arsenal.
The 29-year-old registered 24 league goals last season to help the Foxes to the Premier League title, including a record-breaking run of scoring in 11 consecutive games.
However, reports emerged earlier today that Arsenal, whose 12-year wait for a league title continued courtesy of a second-place finish last term, have triggered a £20m release clause in Vardy's contract.
Leicester are thought to be desperate to keep the reigning Premier League Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year, and Lineker added his voice to those appeals on Twitter.
Vardy is currently on international duty with England ahead of this summer's European Championships.
