Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has admitted that his side were pleased to earn a point in the North London derby as he believes that the Gunners were not at their best.
The 21-year-old scored a 74th-minute equaliser to earn Arsene Wenger's men a 1-1 draw after Nacer Chadli had given Tottenham Hotspur the lead.
Oxlade-Chamberlain told Sky Sports News: "We did well to come back, but when we made it 1-1 we pushed on and tried to get the winner.
"Sometimes it's not about the best football, it's about who wants to win it more. In the second half we settled down and started to pass the ball more.
"We would have liked to have played some better football but it is important that we are not losing games. First and foremost we have to defend and then the more fluid side of our game will come."
Arsenal are now fourth in the Premier League after six matches this season.
