Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew believes that Yaya Sanogo is ready to prove his ability after sealing a loan move to Selhurst Park from Arsenal.
The 21-year-old will play for the Eagles during the remainder of the season to build up his experience of regular first-team football.
"He's a young player with tremendous promise, somebody that I have tracked personally and this club has too so that fitted well," Pardew told the club's official website.
"We have given him an opportunity, he needs to play more games and I think he's ready for that and he proved that at Arsenal. It's tough to get in their team but he's closer to the starting action with us."
Sanogo is Pardew's first signing as Palace manager.
