Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has insisted that Manchester City's dubious third goal during their 3-1 win over the Gunners had a bearing on the outcome of match.
With the scoreline at 2-1 in the 75th minute, striker Gabriel Jesus fired the Sky Blues further in front, but replays showed that David Silva was in an offside position when the Brazilian found the net.
Just 10 minutes earlier, the Gunners handed themselves a lifeline when Alexandre Lacazette fired home, reducing the deficit racked up by Kevin De Bruyne's strike and Sergio Aguero's penalty.
"At 2-1 we got back into the game and we were in it, we had time to search for the equaliser but the third goal makes a huge difference," Cech told reporters.
"I can't comment on the penalty because of my angle, but the third goal, I was surprised. David Silva looked far behind everybody but the referee has a better view than me.
"Referees have a difficult job to do. I don't know if he got it right or wrong but that goal made the difference."
The result leaves City - the only unbeaten team in England's top four divisions - eight points clear at the top of the Premier League.
