Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey warns their title rivals that the Gunners normally come on stronger in the second half of the season.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has warned their title rivals that they are normally much stronger after Christmas, insisting that they have the confidence and quality to build on a strong start to the campaign.

The Gunners sit five points clear in the Premier League and are top of a Champions League group containing Borussia Dortmund and Napoli, thanks to a 1-0 victory in Dortmund this week.

Ramsey scored the decisive goal against the German giants and believes that his squad are capable of maintaining their title charge, declaring that they can go to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon confident of claiming victory.

He told The Mirror: "I think the boss said the other day that, from January, we're the team in the league who have picked up the most points.

"Our biggest problem over the last few seasons has been starting off well. But we've managed to do that this season. If we keep it going up until Christmas then we know that we have the ability to compete. So far we've shown we've got what it takes.

"We've got a massive game now at Manchester United and in the past few seasons we've struggled to go there and get a good result so hopefully we'll feel a lot more confident and this will be the time when we do manage to do that."

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a superb start to the campaign, scoring 11 goals for the Gunners in 17 appearances.
