Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has hailed Arsenal's "superb" signing of goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Parlour is of the opinion that the 33-year-old Czech international can become as important to the London club as former keepers David Seaman and Jens Lehmann.
"I played in Arsenal teams with great goalkeepers, with David Seaman and then Jens Lehmann, who was brilliant when he came in. I think Petr Cech will be similarly superb - what a signing," Parlour told The Telegraph.
"In goalkeeping terms he is still a young man, at 33. You look at Edwin van der Sar, who signed for Manchester United in his mid 30s, and what an impact he had. With Cech in goal I thought Arsenal's back four looked a lot more solid in the Community Shield. He has that experience of playing in big games, he is commanding."
Cech made his competitive debut in Arsenal's 1-0 Community Shield victory over his former club Chelsea.
