Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has claimed that manager Arsene Wenger was right to drop him from the first team last season.
The Polish international was axed towards the end of the campaign before an injury to Lukas Fabianski saw him regain his place.
"Obviously I had mixed feelings about my form last season, I had my ups and downs," Szczesny told the club's official website.
"It wasn't nice – you want to be playing every week. But then again, the most important thing is the team and that is what the team needed.
"I worked really hard to get back into the team and when I did I thought I did pretty well. It was good decision by the manager."
Szczesny has featured in all five of Arsenal's matches across all competitions this season.
