Premier League roundup: Tottenham secure Champions League, Huddersfield safe

Tottenham Hotspur secure Champions League for next season, Huddersfield Town guarantee top-flight survival, Manchester City break Premier League records and Arsenal suffer defeat at Leicester City.

The penultimate Champions League spot was secured on Wednesday night by Tottenham Hotspur, who join Manchester City and Manchester United in the top three of the Premier League table.

Harry Kane was the difference in Tottenham's 1-0 win over Newcastle United at Wembley, as his side cemented their third successive top-four finish.

The three points for Spurs puts the pressure on rivals Chelsea to catch Liverpool for the final Champions League spot, as the Blues dropped points in their 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town at Stamford Bridge.

Laurent Depoitre opened the scoring for the Terriers before Marcos Alonso equalised for the hosts, but the tie has guaranteed Premier League survival for David Wagner's side.

Man City continued their spectacular campaign with a 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion, setting a new record of 105 goals in a single Premier League season.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger's penultimate game as Arsenal manager ended in despair, as Leicester City overcame the Gunners 3-1 at the King Power Stadium. Ten-man Arsenal extended their pointless away run to seven games, as Kelechi Iheanacho, Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez capitalised on their outnumbered defence.

Results in full: Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Newcastle, Chelsea 1-1 Huddersfield, Manchester City 3-1 Brighton & Hove Albion, Leicester City 3-1 Arsenal
