Unai Emery has picked Mesut Ozil out as "one of the biggest talents" at Arsenal following his arrival at the Emirates Stadium.
The 46-year-old, appointed on an undisclosed contract on Wednesday, is tasked with guiding the Gunners back into the Champions League in his first campaign at the helm.
Key to that could be the form of Ozil, who has regularly come in for criticism for a perceived failure to turn it on in big matches during his five years in North London.
Emery hopes to get the best out of the Germany international, admitting that he is "excited" to see what his players are capable of.
"He's one of the biggest talents here at Arsenal and I want talented players here," he told reporters at his unveiling. "I want to spend time with him and with all the players. I want to speak to him on a level.
"I want to speak to him about how excited I am to be here. I want all the players to feel that. This is an exciting project and we all have to give 100%."
Ozil scored four goals and set up eight more in 26 Premier League matches during the 2017-18 season.
