Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has said that his return from injury has been a "rollercoaster" after scoring the winner on his first appearance of the season this afternoon.
Welbeck came off the bench to feature in a Premier League match for the first time since April 2015 and went on to glance home a 95th-minute header to hand the Gunners a dramatic 2-1 victory over 10-man title rivals Leicester City.
Despite his triumphant personal return, though, Welbeck was keen to stress that the most important thing was his side picking up the win that closes the gap at the top of the table to just two points.
"Dying seconds, we kept pushing, had chance after chance. I missed the first opportunity and tried to make amends," he told Sky Sports News.
"It is important and the most important thing is to get the win. It has been a roller-coaster for me, a difficult moment and my family and friends know what I have been through."
Arsenal's next Premier League match comes away to Welbeck's former club Manchester United on February 28.
