Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has expressed his frustration at midfielder Santi Cazorla's trip to Panama next week.
The 27-year-old is part of Vicente del Bosque's squad to take part in a friendly international against the Central American country in Panama City next Wednesday.
"These friendlies in November - you don't know how they can prepare you for a game in February," the Frenchman is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
"There are a lot of politics behind these games because when you see some teams travelling during that period, you think it is more to pay back some corporation rather than preparing a team for the next official game.
"I believe the friendly games are there as well to help some federations raise money playing against big teams."
Spain will face Portugal in Vigo in another friendly match in February.
