Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hailed his side's victory over Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.
Goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey proved enough for the Gunners to register a 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.
"It was a convincing win against a good team which is what we wanted," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "We responded well to losing in midweek [to Chelsea in the League Cup].
"The first goal was a vital moment, after that I felt we had the opportunities to make a difference and Aaron Ramsey scored a stunning goal. We had only top players on the pitch today.
"Aaron is a young player, he has room for improvement but he has grown in confidence in front of goal. Five points clear is positive and nice but it is very early in the season."
Wenger further heaped praised on the Gunners' display against Liverpool in front of their own supporters.
"We had a convincing, controlled performance," the Frenchman added. "We kept their offensive force quiet and took our own chances.
"That is as well as we have played all season. People have been sceptical about us so far this season but today will increase our confidence and get the fans right behind us."
Arsenal are currently five points clear at the top of the Premier League.
