Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has described his side's efforts as "outstanding" after they recorded their second win of the week with a 3-0 victory against Aston Villa.
Kieran Gibbs, Theo Walcott and Mikel Arteta were all on the scoresheet at the Emirates Stadium as the Gunners built on their midweek win at Everton to move three points ahead of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
"I believe we had a great first half, or great 35 minutes where our game was fluent, fast, full of good combinations and that made the difference in the first half," Wenger told Sky Sports News.
"Second half we were at a lower tempo. We'd given a lot at Everton to win this game. We knew it was important not to let them back into the game.
"Overall I'm pleased with what the players have done again this week. We were absolutely outstanding."
Arsenal make the short trip to Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League next Saturday.
