Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that his team controlled the game as they beat Newcastle United 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
Two goals each from Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla saw the Gunners win their third game out of four in the Premier League and helped them move within two points of fourth-place West Ham United.
A happy Wenger told BBC Sport: "We had the dynamic that we wanted to have. Scoring early helped because we knew Newcastle had slow starts as well but are very strong in the second half.
"I think the crowd was behind the team, at some stage a little bit edgy, but overall I think we controlled the game quite well."
Wenger singled out French striker Giroud for praise, admitting that he is not 100% fit after the broken leg which he suffered in August.
