Arsene Wenger: 'Winning title made tougher by Pep Guardiola'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger acknowledges that it will be more difficult than ever to win the Premier League title this season due to the influx of superstar managers.

Arsene Wenger has admitted that winning the Premier League title with Arsenal will now be tougher than ever due to the recent influx of heavyweight managers.

The Frenchman, who has now been in charge of the Gunners for more than two decades, won the last of his three top-flight crowns in 2004.

Wenger has seen many managers come and go during his 20-year stint in North London, but he believes that it is now more difficult than ever to come out on top due to the likes of Jurgen Klopp, Antonio Conte and Pep Guardiola all arriving in recent times.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal's trip to face Guardiola's Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, Wenger is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "I know it's competitive and we're surrounded by top-class managers but I want to win.

"I think that the fight will be tighter and more difficult than ever and that we have an opportunity to prove that we can deal with the new competition. Of course, it stimulates everybody. We will see. It will be very open until the end I think."

Arsenal, looking to bounce back after their first defeat in 15 league outings last time out, have not lost to City in any of the past six meetings.
