Arsenal legend Ian Wright has hit out at the club's supporters and has called for someone to be sacked for the failure to re-sign Cesc Fabregas in the summer.

The 51-year-old took to Twitter on Thursday night to vent his anger at the North London club's decision not to pursue Fabregas, who ended up signing for rivals Chelsea from Barcelona.

Wright tweeted: "For the record the mere fact that Fabregas is at Chelsea when we had first option, don't care who but someone should be sacked."

The retired striker continued his rant by criticising Arsenal fans, many of whom have expressed their desire for manager Arsene Wenger to step down from the helm.

Wright added: "So disappointed with the amount of prize w*****'s who are supporting the club I love.Wish I could meet them individually.Would be carnage!"

A few hours later, Wright admitted to having a few drinks, but defended his views on the social networking website.

He said: "No everyone not been hacked! but yes I've had a few! Many a true word spoken in drunken tongue!"

Arsenal are sixth in the Premier League table, four points adrift of fourth spot.
