Arsenal moved up to fourth place in the Premier League table on Saturday with a 3-0 win at home to struggling Burnley.

The Gunners had to wait until the 69th minute to open the scoring as Alexis Sanchez rose highest to head past Tom Heaton.

Arsene Wenger's side doubled their advantage moments later when Calum Chambers prodded home to score his first goal for the club, while the points were sealed late on thanks to another strike from Sanchez.

ARSENAL

Goal

Wojciech Szczesny: Had very little to do on a quiet afternoon at the back for Arsenal. Had to be alert on a couple of occasions and made sure that he was. (7/10)

Defence

Kieran Gibbs: Offered his side a good attacking outlet down the left, linking up well with his teammates throughout to cause Burnley problems. (7/10)

Per Mertesacker: Was rarely troubled in defence, though he made sure that Burnley did not have any luck when they broke upfield. (7/10)

Nacho Monreal: Complemented Mertesacker well in the centre of defence, providing Arsenal with a solid foundation at the back. (7/10)

Calum Chambers: Looked very composed bombing up and down the right. Capped a fine performance by prodding home to open his account for the club. (8/10)

Midfield

Mikel Arteta: Kept the Gunners ticking with his usual metronomic style in midfield before being substituted with just over an hour played. (7/10)

Mathieu Flamini: Worked like a dog, scrapping away at both ends of the pitch to assert his dominance on the game. (8/10)

Santi Cazorla: Did not have too big a say on the match, but his creativity in around the penalty area was valuable. Missed a sitter with the scores level, though it mattered little in the end. (6/10)

Attack

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: Failed to light up proceedings in the way that his strike partners did. However, his tireless running kept Burnley on the back foot before he came off with 10 minutes left. (7/10)

Alexis Sanchez: Arsenal's star performer. Sanchez's sheer force of will helped the hosts get the points. Took both of his goals really well and made life miserable for Burnley with his running and brute strength. (9/10)

Danny Welbeck: Cut the visitors open on numerous occasions with some incisive runs and clever movement. Struggled to find the net, but he impressed for the 80 minutes that he was on the pitch. (8/10)

Substitutes

Aaron Ramsey: Looked lively during the final 30 minutes, running at Burnley and forcing a couple of saves from Heaton. (7/10)

Theo Walcott: Got involved instantly when he came off the bench on 80 minutes, attacking the visitors with all the relish of a man who has been injured for the past nine months. (7/10)

Lukas Podolski: The German's explosive cameo saw him force a point-blank save from Heaton before rattling the woodwork with a ferocious volley. (7/10)

BURNLEY

Goal

Tom Heaton: Burnley's best player by a country mile. Pulled off a handful of brilliant saves in both halves that kept the score down. (8/10)

Defence

Kieran Trippier: Was dogged in defence, but could not stop Arsenal running riot during the final 20 minutes. (6/10)

Michael Duff: Made a superb block early in the second half, keeping Cazorla's effort out from close range. However, found life difficult once the hosts went ahead. (6/10)

Jason Shackell: An unremarkable display at the back for the Clarets as he struggled to contain the likes of Sanchez and Welbeck. (5/10)

Stephen Ward: Failed to offer his team much protection in defence on a tricky afternoon for Sean Dyche's side. (5/10)

Midfield

George Boyd: Was lucky not to give away a penalty in the first half when he deliberately handled in the area. That incident aside, the Scot did not put in enough hard work to stifle Arsenal. (5/10)

Dean Marney: Despite being recalled to the side, Marney was a passenger for much of the game thanks to a lifeless performance. (5/10)

David Jones: In a similar way to his other midfield colleagues, Jones was almost non-existent in the centre of the park as Arsenal dominated. (5/10)

Scott Arfield: Showed the odd moment of enthusiasm, but could not stop Arsenal taking control of the midfield and setting up camp in Burnley's half. (5/10)

Attack

Marvin Sordell: Worked hard up front, but a lack of service saw him have no effect on the game before he was brought off on 69 minutes. (7/10)

Danny Ings: Had one or two half-chances for the visitors, though this was ultimately another quiet afternoon for him in the top flight. (5/10)

Substitutes

Lukas Jutkiewicz: Had a point to prove after being dropped to the bench, but he only made a small contribution in attack during the final 20 minutes. (5/10)

Nathaniel Chalobah: Did little of note when he replaced Marney with around 10 minutes left to play. (5/10)
