How Arsenal could line up against Sheffield United

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Sheffield United.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is set to be sweating over the fitness of Gabriel Jesus for Saturday's Premier League contest with Sheffield United at the Emirates.

The Brazilian attacker provided a sublime assist for Gabriel Martinelli before scoring himself in a 2-1 Champions League win over Sevilla on Tuesday, although he appeared to suffer a hamstring injury in the second half.

Arteta admitted that he was concerned about the striker's problem, although Jesus is optimistic that he has not sustained anything severe, but the tight turnaround makes him a doubt for Saturday nonetheless.

With Jesus likely to be spared, Eddie Nketiah should come in to lead the line against the Blades, even though his substitute cameo against Sevilla left a lot to be desired, while Martinelli and Bukayo Saka ought to retain their spots alongside him.

Arteta will no doubt face calls to rest Saka, but with an EFL Cup fourth-round clash against West Ham United on the agenda for November 1, he should save the bulk of his rotation for that affair.

As such, Jorginho, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard could continue in an unchanged engine room, as Thomas Partey recovers from the muscular problem that he sustained in training recently.

Takehiro Tomiyasu's contributions were key in Seville, but a well-rested Oleksandr Zinchenko is primed to return on the left, while Ben White continues on the right during Jurrien Timber's ACL absence.

David Raya subjected Arsenal fans to a couple of heart-in-mouth moments on Tuesday, but the Spaniard should keep ex-Blade Aaron Ramsdale at bay once more, while Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba will pair up at the back as ever.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli body check tags ::
