Sports Mole's Premier League Team of the Week

Sports Mole picks out its Premier League team of the week.

Another quiet week in the Premier League, then?

There were a number of great games both in midweek and over the weekend, but the main talking point was that bite by Luis Suarez on Branislav Ivanovic.

The Liverpool striker is expected to be on the end of a hefty punishment from the Football Association for the incident at Anfield - a game in which he scored deep into added time to earn his side a 2-2 draw and deliver a blow to Chelsea's Champions League hopes.

Elsewhere, wins for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have kept their European charges on track, while Manchester City's defeat at White Hart Lane means that Manchester United can clinch the title with victory over Aston Villa on Monday.

Reading and Queens Park Rangers now looked doomed following defeats against Norwich City and Stoke City respectively, but Sunderland's fight for survival was given a boost with victory over Everton.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at the 11 players who stood out from the rest.

Jussi Jaaskelainen (West Ham)
The veteran shot-stopper was called upon a number of times at Upton Park as the Hammers all but secured their safety with a win over struggling Wigan Athletic.

Kyle Walker (Spurs)
The dynamic full-back played an instrumental part in his side's comeback against Manchester City, bombing it up and down the flank with his trademark enthusiasm.
David Luiz (Chelsea)
While he gave a decent account of himself against Liverpool, Luiz wrote the headlines on Wednesday with a goal of the season contender against Fulham.
Per Mertesacker (Arsenal)
The big German netted the winner against Fulham and was an all-round rock at the back during what turned out to be a decent week for the Gunners.
Danny Rose (Sunderland)
On what could be a vital afternoon in the relegation battle, Rose gave a near-complete performance at left-back by showing plenty of eagerness going forward and being a reliability at the back.

Sebastian Larsson (Sunderland)
The Swede offered Sunderland lots of attacking flair on Saturday during their impressive win over Everton - a victory that could well see them safe for another season.
Samir Nasri (Man City)
Despite a minor indiscretion against Spurs (catching Kyle Walker with a poor challenge), Nasri continued his recent run of strong performances at White Hart Lane.
Kevin Nolan (West Ham)
The midfielder capped a typically streetwise display against Wigan by netting the 100th goal of his career.
Gareth Bale (Spurs)
Tottenham's talisman turned it on when his side needed him most with a goal to seal a 3-1 win over Manchester City.

Carlos Tevez (Man City)
The Argentine has been in superb form in recent weeks and he was at his boisterous best against both Wigan and Tottenham.
Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)
Sturridge took his chance with both hands on Sunday by coming off the bench to score a goal in the Reds' controversial draw with Chelsea.
