Arsenal rounded off their preparations for the 2018-19 campaign with a 2-0 win over Lazio at the Friends Arena in Solna on Saturday night.
The Gunners will now switch their attention to their Premier League opener against Manchester City next weekend, but Italian giants Lazio have two more friendlies before opening their Serie A season against Napoli on August 18.
Arsenal made the breakthrough in the 18th minute, and it came from smart work from Alex Iwobi. Indeed, the Nigerian worked space on the left before striking against the post, and Reiss Nelson was on hand to turn home.
Lazio were having their moments though, with Senad Lulic causing problems in midfield. The 32-year-old worked a shooting chance in the 26th minute, but Rob Holding was across to make the challenge.
Marco Parolo then headed against the Arsenal post in the 35th minute as the Italian side looked for a leveller in Sweden.
Alexandre Lacazette had a shot deflected into the arms of Lazio goalkeeper Silvio Proto early in the second period, but the Gunners had their second in the 64th minute when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang nestled one into the far corner.
A smart save from Proto prevented Mohamed Elneny from scoring a third for Arsenal less than one minute later, before Luis Alberto tested the handling of Bernd Leno down the other end of the field.
Proto kept out attempts from Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the latter stages as the English side looked for more goals, but 2-0 was how it finished on the night.
