New Arsenal signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain came off the bench to help England Under-21s defeat their Israeli counterparts 4-1 at Oakwell last night.
The visitors took a 1-0 advantage into the break courtesy of a calm finish from Mohammad Klibat.
Three Lions manager Stuart Pearce brought on Oxlade-Chamberlain for the start of the second-half and the 18-year-old vindicated that decision by crossing for Martyn Waghorn to level just before the hour mark.
Watford striker Marvin Sordell then put England in front, before Oxlade-Chamberlain was felled inside the area. Nathan Delfouneso stepped up to convert the resultant spot-kick.
There was still time for Oxlade-Chamberlain to create one more goalscoring opportunity. On this occasion it was on-loan West Ham United midfielder Henri Lansbury who profited by scoring from close range.
