Gabriel Jesus is back on the Arsenal bench for Sunday's Premier League London derby with Fulham, while Leandro Trossard makes the first XI.

Despite claiming that all of Jesus, Trossard and Eddie Nketiah would be sidelined for the trip to Craven Cottage - seemingly just smoke and mirrors - Mikel Arteta has welcomed the former two back into his matchday squad.

Jesus could be in line for his first appearance of 2023 after recovering from knee surgery, while Trossard has shaken off a minor groin injury to take his place at the tip of the attack.

However, Nketiah's ankle problem is still keeping him sidelined, so Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka unsurprisingly join Trossard in the final third of the field.

Martin Odegaard has recovered from illness to take the place of Fabio Vieira, while Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey also take their places in a first-choice engine room.

Kieran Tierney has also fought off a virus, but the left-back is unsurprisingly on the bench as Oleksandr Zinchenko, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White protect Aaron Ramsdale.

Meanwhile, ex-Arsenal winger Willian is surprisingly nowhere to be seen in the Fulham squad, but Bernd Leno starts against his former club, and Issa Diop has been sacrificed for Tosin Adarabioyo.

Arsenal starting lineup: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Partey, Xhaka, Odegaard; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli

Subs: Turner, Tierney, Tomiyasu, Holding, Jorginho, Vieira, Smith Rowe, Nelson, Jesus

Fulham starting lineup: Leno; Tete, Adarabioyo, Ream, A.Robinson; Reed, Lukic; Decordova-Reid, Pereira, Solomon; Mitrovic

Subs: Rodak, Wickens, Wilson, James, Diop, Vinicius, Francois, Harris, C Robinson body check tags ::
