Malacia's Man Utd exit 'collapses': What now for the 99-minute man?
Tyrell Malacia's proposed loan move from Manchester United to Benfica has reportedly collapsed due to the Portuguese side failing to meet the Red Devils' demands.
The Dutch left-back - who has only made eight appearances for Ruben Amorim's side this season - was expected to complete a switch to the Portuguese giants before the 11pm deadline on Monday.
Malacia is about to be bumped down the Old Trafford pecking order by Patrick Dorgu, whose arrival from Lecce is imminent after he apparently completed his medical on Saturday.
The 25-year-old is said to have given the green light to a temporary switch to Benfica in recent hours, while Man United and Benfica also appeared to be making progress in negotiations.

More misery for Mikel as "infectious" Arsenal target signs new contract
Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed that influential attacker Matheus Cunha has signed a new contract at the club until the summer of 2029.
The 25-year-old put pen to paper after Saturday's 2-0 Premier League success over West Midlands rivals Aston Villa, where he struck the Old Gold's second of the contest in added time.
Cunha's renewal was believed to have been in place some weeks ago amid interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, and his previous terms were due to expire at the end of the 2026-27 campaign.
However, the attacker's Molineux future was briefly plunged into doubt after Wolves' 3-1 loss to Chelsea, where head coach Vitor Pereira criticised his body language, leading to heightened speculation over a January exit.

Last-minute Levy! Spurs 'hijack' deal for £4.6m defender as 'agreement' reached
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to hijack Wolverhampton Wanderers' proposed move for Lens defender Kevin Danso, who is now on his way to North London.
The Lilywhites are yet to make a single outfield acquisition in the January transfer window and were allegedly rejected by AC Milan's Fikayo Tomori on Friday, despite agreeing a deal with the Rossoneri.
As a result, Spurs risked hitting Monday's deadline with just one new acquisition in the shape of Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, having also been rebuffed by Bayern Munich's Mathys Tel.
However, the Tottenham hierarchy have been searching far and wide for defensive reinforcements amid fears that Radu Dragusin could miss the rest of the season with the knee injury he suffered against Elfsborg in Thursday's 3-0 Europa League victory.

Tel me more: Bayern explain forward's omission as Man United 'step up interest'
Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has explained why Mathys Tel was not involved in Saturday's Bundesliga contest with Holstein Kiel.
Tel was a notable absentee from the matchday squad at Allianz Arena, with Freund confirming that his omission was down to the speculation surrounding his future.
The 19-year-old informed Bayern towards the end of last week that he wanted to leave the German giants in the latter stages of the January transfer window, and there has since been a host of speculation.
Tottenham Hotspur had a €60m (£50m) bid for Tel accepted on Friday, but the forward turned down the chance to make the move to the North London outfit.

Rashford saga almost over: Man United star 'says goodbye to teammates' with exit 'agreed'
Marcus Rashford reportedly said goodbye to his Manchester United teammates on Saturday afternoon, with the forward preparing to join Aston Villa on loan for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.
The 27-year-old saw a proposed move to Barcelona break down on Friday, and Villa then emerged as the leading contenders to sign the England international, who has not played for the Red Devils since December 12.
According to the Daily Mail, Rashford has now said goodbye to his Red Devils teammates, while he also spoke to club staff on Saturday afternoon to inform them that he was leaving.
The report claims that personal terms have been agreed with Villa, while the two clubs are now 'ironing out the finer details', as Unai Emery's side close in on one of the most spectacular January deals in recent memory.

Tottenham 'open' to attacker sale before deadline despite injury crisis
Tottenham Hotspur are open to the idea of letting Richarlison leave this month, despite the Brazilian's recent return to form, according to a report.
Spurs have been hit hard by injuries this season, with the likes of Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario all spending the majority of the season to date on the treatment table.
In attack, Timo Werner and James Maddison are ruled out until later this month, while the most recent injury blow was that of Dominic Solanke, who sustained a knee injury and is only expected to return to the team in March.
Richarlison also sat out a large chunk of the first half of the campaign, and his injury issues have been a long-standing concern for the Lilywhites, which has fueled speculation that his long-term future may lie away from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Latest January transfer news and rumours including Iheanacho to Celtic
Celtic are reportedly in discussions with Sevilla over a loan deal for forward Kelechi Iheanacho.
The 28-year-old left Leicester City for Sevilla last summer, but he has found it difficult to make his mark for his La Liga club during the 2024-25 campaign, only making 11 appearances in all competitions, scoring three times.
There is currently a host of speculation surrounding the Nigerian's future, with Leeds United believed to be pushing to sign him.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Celtic are in discussions with Sevilla over a deal for the forward, with the Scottish giants believed to be keen to sign him on loan with an option to buy at the end of the campaign.

Darwin Nunez 'would have liked' chance to speak with Saudi giants
Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez has reportedly been left frustrated after the club turned down a substantial transfer offer from Al-Nassr for his services.
This season, Nunez has netted six goals and registered four assists in 29 games across all competitions for the Premier League leaders.
Although his form has been varied, he has delivered some standout performances, such as a crucial brace in the dying moments to clinch a 2-0 victory over Brentford last month.
The Reds invested in the region of £85m to bring the Uruguayan international in from Benfica in 2022, but his long-term future at Anfield remains uncertain.

Patrick Dorgu delivers seven-word verdict on Man Utd transfer
Patrick Dorgu has issued a transfer message ahead of flying to England to complete his transfer to Manchester United from Serie A side Lecce in the coming days.
The Red Devils had made signing a new left-back their priority in the winter window, with Luke Shaw sidelined and Tyrell Malacia still working his way back to full fitness following a serious knee injury.
New boss Ruben Amorim has been forced to use Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui to cover at left-back, while Lisandro Martinez has also filled in on occasion over the first half of the campaign.
United have been in negotiations with Lecce for nearly two weeks, and the deal now seems set to be wrapped up before the window shuts on February 3.

What does Dorgu's imminent arrival at Man United mean for Malacia?

Chelsea past and present: Spurs 'approach' Blues man after fatal Tomori blow
Tottenham Hotspur have apparently made an approach to sign Chelsea defender Axel Disasi after failing in their efforts to lure Fikayo Tomori away from AC Milan.
The Lilywhites are desperately searching for central reinforcements before Monday's transfer deadline after Radu Dragusin suffered a knee injury in Thursday's 3-0 Europa League win over Elfsborg.
Spurs are allegedly fearful that the Romanian has suffered a severe issue, while Cristian Romero is still out with a thigh concern and Micky van de Ven has only just returned from one of his own.
Tottenham's bid to strengthen their backline is said to have led them to Tomori, who has slipped down the San Siro pecking order, and Spurs reportedly struck a verbal agreement over a fee with Milan on Friday.

Two European giants make surprise loan offer for Chelsea prospect?
Chelsea defender Aaron Anselmino has reportedly emerged as a surprise transfer target for a French club.
Having signed for the Blues in a £15.6m deal last summer, Anselmino was expected to remain at Boca Juniors until at least the middle part of 2025.
However, Chelsea announced at the turn of the year that they had recalled the 19-year-old from his loan stint at a club that he had represented on 23 occasions.
Anselmino has since been acclimatising to life in England, head coach Enzo Maresca insisting that the youngster will require time before being considered for first-team selection.

A United U-turn? Wantaway winger 'on verge' of Premier League loan move
Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford is edging closer to signing for Aston Villa on loan for the rest of the season, according to a report.
The England international has apparently suffered a total breakdown of his relationship with Ruben Amorim, who has frozen him out of the first-team squad over the past several weeks.
Rashford has been tipped to complete a move away from Old Trafford for the entirety of the January transfer window, but with just two days left to go, he remains on the books at Old Trafford.
A prospective switch to AC Milan did not come to fruition thanks to the Rossoneri moving for Manchester City's Kyle Walker, while a dream move to Barcelona will not materialise unless the Blaugrana make sales first.

Heaven - who made just one first-team appearance for the Gunners - has penned a four-and-a-half year contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2029, and his terms also include a 12-month extension option.
The club have also confirmed that Heaven will immediately join up with Ruben Amorim's first-team squad as opposed to continuing his development in the youth teams, meaning that he could make his debut imminently.
