AC Milan have reportedly set their sights on signing Lille attacker Jonathan Ikone as a replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu, who looks set to leave the Italian giants.
Calhanoglu's contract at the Giuseppe Meazza is due to expire on June 30 and, having failed to reach an agreement with Milan over an extension, Chelsea and Arsenal may intensify their pursuits of the 27-year-old.
AC Milan will now turn their attention to signing France Under-21 international Ikone, who scored four goals and provided five assists during Lille's Ligue 1-winning campaign.
According to football.london, contact between AC Milan and Lille representatives took place just over a week ago, but the Italian club could face competition for Ikone from Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid.
A move to AC Milan would see Ikone move away from France for the first time in his career, having come through Paris Saint-Germain's academy and experienced multiple loan moves to Montpellier before a permanent transfer to Lille.
Ikone arrived at Lille in 2018 and has gone on to provide 25 assists and score 14 goals in 125 appearances for the club. body check tags ::
