The agent of Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has confirmed that the Egypt international wants to leave the club in 2022.
Elneny had initially appeared to reignite his Gunners career under Mikel Arteta but has fallen back down the pecking order since the arrival of Albert Sambi Lokonga.
The 29-year-old remained at the Emirates over the summer despite interest from Turkey, but his agent William D'avila has now revealed that his client has set his sights on a move to Galatasaray.
"Galatasaray is a very big club, it is doing well in European cups and Galatasaray is one of the biggest candidates for the championship every year. It is a good opportunity for Elneny, so he wants to play in Galatasaray," D'avila said in quotes attributed to Sporx.
"Is Galatasaray currently negotiating with Arsenal for the transfer of Mohamed Elneny? Believe me, I don't know, but of course you need to talk to Arsenal.
"Mohamed Elneny's contract ends at the end of the season, so he can make an advantageous transfer in January or make a preliminary agreement with a team for the next season. It is necessary to think about it because next summer he will be released, he will reach free status.
"I can say that Galatasaray is an important option for him, but I can't say anything more about it because it's too early to talk about it."
Elneny scored three goals in 41 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions last season but has only played 45 minutes of Premier League football so far this term. body check tags ::
