Middlesbrough winger Marcus Tavernier has emerged as a January transfer target for Premier League sides Arsenal and Everton, according to a report.
The England Under-19s international is said to have been watched up close by scouts of a number of top-flight clubs during games against Faroe Islands, Iceland and Bulgaria over the past week.
Tavernier could now be on on his way out of the Riverside Stadium, as the Daily Mail suggests that the left-sided midfielder is being closely monitored by Arsenal and Everton with an eye on a mid-season bid, while Bournemouth and Championship side Aston Villa have also been credited with an interest.
In response, Boro are expected to trigger the option of a two-year extension in the 18-year-old's contract to potentially drive up his transfer valuation.
A Middlesbrough academy product, Tavernier scored the winner against Sunderland earlier this month and has also netted against Bournemouth in the EFL Cup.
