Arsenal could reportedly attempt to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres this summer.
The 23-year-old, who is thought to have a €50m (£46.2m) release clause in his contract with the Yellow Submarine, has scored once in 26 appearances at club level this season.
A recent report claimed that Barcelona had entered into discussions over a potential deal for the centre-back during this summer's transfer window.
However, according to football.london, the Gunners are also weighing up an approach for Torres, who scored on his Spain debut against Malta back in November.
Mikel Arteta's side have struggled defensively this season but will already be welcoming a new centre-back to the club for the 2020-21 campaign as William Saliba prepares to return from a loan spell at Saint-Etienne.
The capital giants are also believed to be considering a move for Liverpool's Dejan Lovren.
