Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly identified Schalke 04 midfielder Max Meyer as one of his main transfer targets for the summer.
Meyer has established himself as one of the Schalke's key players, with the 22-year-old having already made 183 appearances in all competitions.
However, the German international's contract expires at the end of the season and a number of clubs are interested in signing the player on a free transfer.
According to the Daily Star, Wenger is keen on adding Meyer to his first-team squad as the Frenchman looks to make further changes at the Emirates Stadium.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is also an admirer of his compatriot, while Bayern Munich and AC Milan are expected to lodge bids should the player not agree a new deal at the Veltins-Arena.
Earlier this month, it was claimed that Tottenham Hotspur were no longer in the running to sign Meyer.
