Arsenal manager Unai Emery is reportedly looking to add Chelsea defender Gary Cahill to his squad before the transfer window closes.
The Gunners face a major injury crisis at the back after losing Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Laurent Koscielny in last week's 3-1 defeat to Manchester United.
Rob Holding is also on the sidelines with a knee ligament injury and Konstantinos Mavropanos has yet to feature this term, leaving Emery seriously short of options.
According to The Mirror, however, Arsenal may strengthen their backline in the coming days as Cahill remains a target.
The Englishman, out of contract in the summer, has been promised that he can leave Stamford Bridge this month if an offer is made.
Emery has been restricted to loan signings only in the winter window as Arsenal chiefs are cutting costs on the back of some big investment in 2018, but Cahill could be available on the cheap.
