Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Gremio about a deal for Argentinian defender Walter Kannemann.
The Gunners are one of a number of teams to have been linked with the 28-year-old, along with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton.
Kannemann's agent Martin Wainbuch revealed this week that Wolves have already made a tentative enquiry and, according to Brazilian media outlet Globo Esporte, Arsenal have also now made contact.
The report indicates that Unai Emery's side have upped their efforts to get a deal wrapped up for Kannemann, who has spent the past three years in Brazil with Gremio and is believed to be available for around £12m.
Arsenal are still rumoured to be looking to find a buyer for Shkodran Mustafi, meanwhile, and fellow centre-back Laurent Koscielny's future remains uncertain with a month of the transfer window to go.
