Arsenal have reportedly offered Bukayo Saka a lucrative contract to commit his future to the club.
The 20-year-old's current deal with the North London giants is due to expire in the summer of 2024, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future over the last few months.
Manchester City and Liverpool are both said to be admirers of the attacker, who is widely expected to be a part of the England squad that travels to the 2022 World Cup.
However, Arsenal have been working to convince the youngster to remain at the Emirates Stadium, with Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta recently claiming that it was only "a matter of time" before an agreement was reached over a fresh deal.
"We will try," Arteta told football.london. "We both have the same intention. It's a matter of time."
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have now offered the attacker a long-term contract that would see him become one of the highest-paid players at the club.
The report claims that the proposed new agreement would see Saka double his wages to around £140,000 a week, and Arsenal are confident when it comes to the Englishman's future.
Man City are believed to view Saka as the ideal replacement for Raheem Sterling, and the attacker's desire to play in the Champions League has caused Arsenal issues during initial talks, with Arteta's side finishing fifth in the Premier League last season, which will see them play in the 2022-23 Europa League.
Saka was in strong form for Arsenal during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 12 goals and registering seven assists in 43 appearances in all competitions.
The youngster scored 11 times and provided seven assists in 38 Premier League appearances, while he has now made 131 outings for the Gunners in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and contributing 29 assists.
Arsenal are said to be hopeful that their summer transfer business will convince Saka to commit his future to the club on a long-term basis.
Arteta's side have been active during the current market, with Oleksandr Zinchenko becoming their fifth signing of the summer when his £30m move from Man City went through on Friday.
The Gunners have also brought in Gabriel Jesus from the Premier League champions, while Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos and Matt Turner have signed for the club this summer.
Arsenal have won all three of their pre-season games this summer against Nurnberg, Everton and Orlando City, and they will now take on Chelsea and Sevilla in their final two friendlies before beginning their 2022-23 Premier League campaign away to Crystal Palace on August 5. body check tags ::
