Arsenal have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Brighton & Hove Albion's Leandro Trossard after losing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea.

The Gunners were not willing to be dragged into a bidding war for the Ukrainian and as a result are looking to alternative targets.

The Athletic's David Ornstein reports that Mikel Arteta could now turn to the Belgian international after his public falling-out with Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi.

The player has been frozen out of first-team training and his agent, Josy Comhair, has claimed that his client is no longer on speaking terms with the Seagulls manager.

Brighton are understood to have rejected an offer from Arsenal's arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur, believed to be in the region of £12m.

The 28-year-old has featured 17 times so far this season, scoring seven goals and assisting three.
