Arsenal have reportedly initiated talks with Bukayo Saka over a new contract at the North London club.
The 20-year-old has become one of the first names on the team sheet under Mikel Arteta and scored his ninth Premier League goal of the season in Saturday's 1-0 win at Aston Villa.
Saka extended his stay at Arsenal in 2020 until the summer of 2024, but he is thought to have attracted glances from Liverpool and Manchester City following his stellar performances this term.
Arteta has confirmed that the club will attempt to tie Saka down to a new contract, and The Athletic now claims that an 'initial conversation' over a new-and-improved deal has taken place.
The report adds that Arsenal are optimistic about their chances of extending the England international's stay, but factors such as Champions League football will still play a big part in negotiations.
Saka has already won the FA Cup and Community Shield at the Emirates Stadium and boasts 21 goals and 27 assists from 121 games for the Gunners since coming through their Hale End academy.
