Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly failed with their opening bid for Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Earlier this week, it was claimed that the West Midlands outfit were keen on the Englishman, who could leave the Emirates Stadium for the right price this summer.
However, according to Sky Sports News, the Gunners have turned down an approach in the region of £15m.
The report suggests that the North London outfit will not consider a sale unless any interested club offers in excess of £20m.
Despite seeing their first bid rejected, Wolves are expected to return with an improved proposal after Nuno Espirito Santo identified the versatile 22-year-old as a key target.
Since coming through Arsenal's academy setup, Maitland-Niles has made a total of 100 appearances in all competitions.
