Arsenal are reportedly preparing to launch a bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in the summer.
The Gunners have been linked with the Frenchman on several past occasions but, according to Diario Gol, will make a firm offer of €40m (£35m) when the transfer window reopens.
Rumours linking Benzema with a move away from Real heightened recently, following reports that captain Sergio Ramos has told club president Florentino Perez to offload the forward.
Perez, however, is said to value the France international at around €80m (£70m), which could price Arsenal out of a potential deal.
Benzema has struggled to hold down first-team football at Real this season and has been tipped to be sold as part of a summer overhaul.
