Arsenal are reportedly ready to make a new approach for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano during the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the top European prospects at the Bundesliga outfit, already making a total of 79 appearances since moving to Germany in January 2017.
Arsenal had been keen to sign the player during the summer, only for Leipzig to insist that they were not prepared to part ways with one of their most prized assets for anything below his release clause, alleged to be €100m (£86.44m).
However, Kicker claims that €20m (£17.29m) is deducted with each passing window, providing any interested clubs with more of a chance of pushing through a deal for the Frenchman.
While there are conflicting suggestions of the exact figure, the report suggests that Arsenal are ready to make a fresh bid in the region of €60m (£51.85m) during the January window.
Upamecano has less than two years remaining on his contract, effectively leaving his club in a position where they must consider any offers in and around his release clause.
