Arsenal have reportedly identified Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak as an alternative to Morgan Schneiderlin.
The Gunners were said to be keen on signing Schneiderlin from Southampton, but it is thought that they have been put off by the £25m fee that the Saints are demanding for the Frenchman.
The North Londoners have reportedly turned their attention to Krychowiak as a result.
The 25-year-old moved to Sevilla from French side Ligue 1 side Reims in 2012, but it is thought that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been monitoring his development since he moved to France as a youngster to link up with Bordeaux's academy.
Manchester United are also said to be tracking the Polish international.
According to The Express, Wenger is keen to beat United to Kryschowiak by tying up a deal quickly.
The midfielder won the Europa League with Sevilla this season.
