With contrasting reports emerging over transfer budgets and player departures, Arsenal's plans for the summer window are seemingly up in the air.
However, with less than a month remaining until the new season, Mikel Arteta will have instructed club officials to press ahead with plans to acquire his desired targets.
That said, the Spaniard is also in a position where he must wait for several players to make decisions over their futures, something which could result in negotiations being prolonged over weeks rather than days.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal to offer player-plus-cash deal for Joelson Fernandes?
Having made Joelson Fernandes their youngest-ever player after the resumption, Sporting Lisbon effectively put the prospect in the shop window.
Despite only four substitute appearances being made in Portugal's top flight, the 17-year-old was soon being linked with a switch to Arsenal.
However, with Fernandes possessing a £41m release clause, the Gunners naturally prefer to include at least one player in any proposal for the teenager.
According to the Daily Star, club officials are willing to add an out-of-favour squad member to a cash offer of £29m.
Thomas Partey 'demanding £200,000-per-week at Arsenal'
Arsenal have been heavily linked with an approach for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey for the best part of three months.
Despite being aware of the Ghana international's £45m release clause, the Gunners would prefer to put together a part-exchange deal.
However, as well as Atletico being against that method of transfer, it appears that the Premier League outfit face a further stumbling block.
According to The Athletic, Thomas is ready to demand in the region of £200,000 per week in order to complete a move to the Emirates Stadium.
At a time when they are trying to negotiate lucrative deals with Willian and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, that could be out of Arsenal's wage bracket.
Arsenal 'eye Amadou Diawara, Lucas Torreira swap'
Despite having been at Arsenal for two seasons, it is no secret that Lucas Torreira would prefer to return to Serie at some point in the future.
The midfielder, who has previously starred for Sampdoria, has recently been linked with Inter Milan and Fiorentina.
However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Uruguay international could be presented with an opportunity to sign for Roma.
The report claims that Amadou Diawara may be in line to move in the opposite direction, something which allegedly appeals to Mikel Arteta.
