Arsenal are reportedly considering an audacious nine-figure swoop for Juventus duo Dusan Vlahovic and Fabio Miretti.
The Gunners invested significantly in the summer to bring Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Matt Turner, Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira to the club, and Mikel Arteta is reaping the rewards.
Arsenal have won six of their opening seven Premier League games to storm to the top of the table, with Jesus coming up with four goals and three assists in league action.
The 25-year-old was signed after Arsenal failed to prise Vlahovic away from Fiorentina in the January transfer window, with the Serbia international remaining in Serie A with Juventus.
However, a report from Calciomercatoweb claims that the Gunners are still keeping tabs on Vlahovic, whose Juventus career has not started in an ideal manner.
The 22-year-old came up with nine goals from 21 matches during his first half-season under Massimiliano Allegri, and he has struck four times from six Serie A games this term.
Vlahovic's efforts have only managed to help Juve win two of their opening seven Serie A matches, though, as the Old Lady lie eighth in the embryonic standings.
The ex-Fiorentina man is under contract at the Allianz Stadium until the summer of 2026, but he is said to be feeling "nervous" and "isolated" by those around him in black and white.
Nevertheless, the report adds that Vlahovic remains one of the most in-demand centre-forwards in European football, and Arsenal will not be the only club vying for his signature.
As well as the Serbian, the Premier League leaders are also believed to have taken an interest in 19-year-old Miretti after failing to add to their midfield ranks in the summer window.
The teenager made fleeting appearances in the Juventus first team during the 2021-22 season and has now established himself as a regular for Allegri in the starting lineup.
With Paul Pogba out injured, Miretti has started four of his side's opening seven Serie A games - claiming one assist - as well as making the first XI for their Champions League defeats to Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica.
The Italy Under-21 international is also tied down to the Old Lady for another four years, and Arteta is supposedly pushing for his side to bring both men to the Emirates in 2023.
The report states that Vlahovic and Miretti could cost a combined €115m (£102.7m) to prise away from the Allianz Stadium, and Juventus would find it difficult to reject such an offer.
Arsenal will endeavour to remain top of the Premier League table when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in October's North London derby following the international break. body check tags ::
