Arsenal manager Arsenal Wenger has vowed to continue his policy of giving youth a chance following his side's 3-1 win at Fulham.
The Gunners boss is under intense pressure from supporters to invest in new additions to his squad before next month's transfer deadline.
However, Wenger believes that many fans underestimate the potential of the players that are currently at his disposal.
"I'm happy because we have great players, I could afford to rest Jack [Wilshere] today," Wenger told reporters.
"We have young British and English players who will get a chance with us.
"People can focus too much on who we need to buy and forget how good the players are we have here."
The average age of Arsenal's first-team squad is 25 years and nine months.
